Local Artisans
|
Local artisan, Betsy Herpel is the owner and operator of "Bubbies Biscuits". Daily baking takes place in her own kitchen and she only uses the highest quality ingredients without any added preservatives. "Bubbies Biscuits" are inspired by Buster Baxter, nicknamed Bubby, a dog she adopted through the local animal shelter. All biscuit production is maintained under the watchful eye of Bubby who thinks his mom's biscuits are "bow-wow-wonderful" and thinks you will agree. "Bubbies Biscuits" are exclusively sold at Traders Coffee House, located at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.
"Bubbies Biscuits" supports canine rescue and spay and neuter programs. Please support your local shelter and spay or neuter your pets.

Megclary Designs, President Michelle Nash |
Throughout her life Michelle has been drawn towards the arts. Over the last 25 years she has nurtured her creative side by painting, drawing and designing and planning interiors, as well as taking classes in art and design. Constantly looking for artistic outlets, she began to make jewelry in 2001.
After designing jewelry for several bridal parties and custom designing pieces for friends and family, she and friend Kim Glynn started Megclary Designs in 2003.
One of the catalysts for starting the company was to have a vehicle to give back to their community while doing something they enjoyed. Each month the company choose a different charity to which a percentage of their revenue is donated.
Michelle generally draws from her travels and life experience to develop her collections of jewelry that are composed of gemstones, pearls, crystals, sterling silver and 14k gold.
She has passed on her creative genes to her daughter Meghan, who also designs for the business.
Michelle divides her time between homes in Rockville and Oakland, Maryland. She has taught jewelry making for the city of Rockville.
You can find people wearing Megclary Designs throughout the United States and in France.
